Hegnsgaard i/s started in 2005 as a small family-owned horse stud farm, with the Andersen family, who for many years had had this passion for horses and breeding Holstein and miniature horses.
In 2012, it was decided to open a riding equipment shop on the farm.
This was because at that time it was really difficult to find equipment for miniature horses and small Shetlands. We have since then quietly expanded the product range to also have equipment for all sizes of horses and riders. So on September 22, 2012, the doors to the store opened. Primarily the sales were done via Facebook, but later it was decided to create a proper webshop.
On November 1, 2017, we took over a pet store in Nyborg, which now forms the framework for the physical business. Here we also have aquarium fish and accessories, food for dogs, cats, birds and rodents, and of course, a lot of toys and accessories for them too.
In October 2021, the store moved to Falstervej 10G in Nyborg, where we got a whole 500m2 of space to play around in. With twice as many square meters, we now have a more open and inviting store with room for a larger assortment for the whole family's pets.
In 2024, the company was restructured and acquired by the family, under a new name Nyborg Dyrehandel. Daily operations are still carried out as usual. We continue to strive to provide our customers with the best service and continuously expand the range in the store.
